Fairy Garden

Have you created something magical for the
March Customer Challenge:
Fairy Garden ???
I made a few things to help you get creative.

All of these projects use the new
Fairy Magic Collage sheet set and were so easy to make!
for this last one, I simply cropped
an image from the Fairy Magic Collage Sheet.
I masked it using an Amanda Sok photo mask and
placed that over a paper from the
Pixie Dust paper pak.
A border overlay from Created by Jill
completed the piece.
Nothing to it!

The thing about Gecko Galz Collage sheets and papers is that
they are so pretty and full of lovely detail, that
you don't really need to do much to them
to create something quite wonderful.

Remember you only need to use one product from
That can be one of the their free products,
digital paper paks, digital stamp sets, or collage sheets.
I used wordart on my samples from the
In Other Words digital stamp set and
the Scripted Collage Sheet set.
Both had awesome wordart that you can either print out
or just place over your digital product
and change the overlay mode, so that just the words show.
How cool is that?

You have until the end of the month to play along
with us.
We hope to see you there!
Link up at
and celebrate the magic!

Thanks for stopping by and
have a funny day.
(unless of course you have other plans)

March is Fairy Month!

It's a new month and that brings with it a new customer challenge at

I made a little something to help get you thinking
Fairy Garden!

along with an image from Pixie Dust

Oriental

better late than never for

credits:  Gecko Galz

on a personal note, a number of years ago,
I used the word "Oriental", a word I grew
up with and was/am totally comfortable with.
My teenage daughter was horrified, and
told me it was racist.
Who knew?
I am still comfortable with it, and no,
I am not a racist. lol
hugs to you.

More Vintage Valentines

So you already know that
there is a new Customer Challenge at
Gecko Galz, right?
Have you made anything yet?
All that is required is that
you use at least one Gecko Galz product and have it
linked up here
before the last day of February.
There is lots of inspiration over on the blog
and you'll want to add to your stash,
I'm sure, of Gecko Galz products by visiting
Here are a few projects I made using Gecko Galz images and papers:
Gecko Galz paper pak:  High Society
Gecko Galz collage sheet set:  Valentine's Wishes
(additional products: wordart by Crafty Button Designs,
and overlay by Amy Wolff)

Gecko Galz paper pak:  Magnolia Blossoms
Gecko Galz collage sheet set: Hugs and Kisses
(additional products: stitching by Akizo Designs)

Gecko Galz paper pak: Retro Cooking
Gecko Galz collage sheet set:  Retro Love Story
digital wordart:  In Other Words
(additional products:Heart by Durin Eberhart

All of these are so easy to make,
either digitally or with paper and scissors.

You simply take your favorite paper from
one of the Gecko Galz paper paks,
layer an image from one of the many
collage sheets, either printing it and cutting it out,
or, if the case of digital,
erasing the back parts that you don't want.
Add some wordart,
maybe a border, and it's done!
Then use it as the front of your
card for your sweetie.

You'll notice that I put the products I used
for each project under the image.
So you can go find them in the shop!

Check out the Etsy Shop for
all of these Gecko Gaz Goodies.

And I will see you soon!

It's a New Year!

(and thank goodness for that!)
and a new year at
Gecko Galz means
the Design Team
(with some very talented new members)
 is busy
creating all sorts of inspiration for you!
I used a couple of
GLORIOUS
papers from the new
"In Marble Halls" paper pak and images from the
"Ring In The New Year" collage sheet set for these two pieces:

Aren't those fun?
So easy to do, especially the second one.
I just sampled the colours from this beautiful sheet
flipped the image, added a cropped and masked image
of the woman and then went crazy with brushes in those
amazing colours!
SO MUCH FUN!
For this next one, I cropped the puppy on the bicycle from
the "Dog Gone Cute" Jewel Sheet.
Isn't he just Doggone Cute?

I added the cool frame
(and I'm sorry, it's from my stash and
I can't remember who it's from)
I placed that over another GREAT paper from the
"In Marble Halls" paper pak
Picked up the colour grey from the doggie's background
and coloured a basic mask I made with that colour.
I cropped the words from the "Scripted" Collage Sheet
and added one of the Gecko Galz Frames.
Finally, I merged the layers and
applied a Film Grain filter.
DONE!
I think that is one of the quickest pieces I've done lately.
Don't tell anyone, but my first sample
took two hours and had at one point 34 layers.
That's not a record, but it's close. lol
You can get all of these wonderful Gecko Galz
products at the
And don't forget to check out the
January
Customer Challenge!
Until next time,
LET IT SNOW!

It's time for a new challenge at
the first of the new year!
Are you going to play along with every challenge this year?
I certainly am.
And I made one thing to get you started...
Isn't that little girl sitting on the park bench just the sweetest thing ever?
You can find her and all sorts of other
delightful elements at the

(Psst, you only need to use at least one of the
items to enter our monthly challenges)
But you will no doubt want to use more.
Be sure to check out all the other
beautiful pieces from the Design Team!
At the Gecko Galz blog.
See you there, and
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
