Steampunk Autumn

Welcome to September at

I used the following Gecko Galz products
for this piece:

Curiosity Shop, In Marble Halls &Timeless paper paks
Vintage Spring Craft Kit
Industrial Age digital stamp set
Mechanics of Life Collage Sheet Set

As with everything I do digitally, this is simply
layer upon layer.

I painted the bird blue, making a separate layer behind
the digital stamp.
The angel was from the
Mechanics of Life Collage Sheet Set
on Multiply blend mode.

The rest of the elements are from my stash.
I have a big stash of steampunky stuff. lol

So here are the layers, starting with the background:

Timeless paper
Image from Mechanics of Life Collage Sheet Set
Top hat and my stash elements
Border made from my own black overlay used
as a mask with a paper from the
In Marble Halls paper pak
Postcard from the Vintage Spring craft kit
Another paper from In Marble Halls
Industrial Age digital stamp over a
paper from the Curiosity Shop paper pak
A second
Industrial Age digital stamp over a
paper from the Curiosity Shop paper pak
Hardware from my stash
Wings from my stash
And finally,
I finished it all off with additional
Steampunky elements from my stash.

TA DA!!!!

To tell you the truth,
it was more work writing all of this out
than it was making the darn thing! lolol

Seaside Shabby Chic

Welcome to August, peeps!
And welcome to a month of a new challenge at
Isn't that an awesome theme for the month?

Here is something I made for this theme:

This was such a fast and easy
piece to make.
I use Photoshop Elements for my digital scrapbooking.

The background is a paper from the
Seaside Paper Pak
I used the Summer Girls collage Sheet set
for the image of the woman.
I cropped it, then placed it over top of the background paper.
I erased around it.
Then I added the sign icon from
the Seaside Craft Kit,
along with a post from my stash.
I merged the layers and applied a film grain filter.
Lastly, a stitched border, again from my vast stash
and we're done!
How much easier could it be?!
(The truth is, I almost forgot to do this in time
for the new month and had to whip it
up really quickly last night at midnight-lol)

But you don't need any reason to miss out on participating in this fun
August Customer Challenge.
You can get all of the Gecko Galz products I used at
our Etsy Shop, and lots more!

Seriously.
You'll want to check it out and hopefully you will play along with us.

Get all the deets on this wonderful
Customer Challenge

and maybe you will be the lucky winner of a

$25 Gecko Galz Shopping Spree !

You still have the whole month of August
to link up your project.

We look forward to seeing what you make!

Feature Day

Today  is my day to be featured on the
for our
Midsummer Night's Dream Monthly Challenge theme.
Here are my samples for the month, along with
the Gecko Galz products I used to make them:

Midsummer Night's Dream Collage Sheets Set
Nouveau Garden paper pak
Butterfly Dreams paper pak
Butterfly from the Parisian Garden Craft kit

Midsummer Night's Dream Collage Sheets Set
Magnolia Blossoms paper pak

Midsummer Night's Dream Collage Sheets Set
Wonderful Watercolour ATC backgrounds set
Namaste paper pak
flower from the La Boheme Craft kit
Charming Words Collage Sheet Set

If you have been here before,
you know how I make these digital pieces.
Using PSE13, I layer
the images, papers and icons I want,
accenting them with borders and brushes
from my monster stash.  lol
I seem to be on an "add a stroke to everything" kick,
so I have done that with each layer this month.
It will pass. haha

And in the case of my second sample, I did add a beautiful frame
by Kimeric Kreations.  Kim passed about a year ago and
her talent and generosity in sharing that
talent knew no bounds.
I still miss her.

You have until the end of the month to
Midsummer Night's Dream challenge
and you can find more glorious examples
from the rest of our talented Design Team

Will we see you there?
I sure hope so.

Feature Day

Today is my day to be featured on the

And you will remember, I'm sure, that this month's theme is
In the Good Old Summer Time

I made some ATC's this month to share with you:

Each ATC uses a black and white image from the
Summertime Collage sheet set, wordart from
the Charming Words Set and
a paper from the Paradise Island paper pak.

I added borders from my stash, and
a stroke to each layer to make
the layer pop.

Finally, I placed each creation over top
of another paper with another border.

The background papers are

1. Wonderful Watercolours ATC Collection
2. Zen Garden paper pak
3. Zen Garden paper pak
4. Starlight ATC Collection

You have until the end of the month to
join in with our
In The Good Old Summer Time challenge

I sure hope so.

Cowboy

I call this "Wanted".
You may read into it anything you like.

In The Good Old Summer Time

I am singing along to that song
"In the Good Old Summer Time",
and I realize that is the only line of it that I know.
But that does't stop me.
Are you like that?
Do you just make up words as you go along
to songs you can't remember?
Well, maybe it's just me.
At any rate, that
is our theme for
the Gecko Galz customer challenge this month!
Isn't that fun?

Here is my contribution
(just one of many gorgeous samples, I
might add, by our talented Design Team)
for this sample, I used
these Gecko Galz products:
Surreal Life Jewel sheet
(which is spectacular!)
In Other Words wordart,
and La Isla Bonita paper pak.

ALL OF WHICH
can be found in our

As my digital pieces always are,
simply layer upon layer of
those wonderful Gecko Galz products!

In this case, I placed the cropped image from the
Surreal Life Jewel sheet
over top of the paper from the
La Isla Bonita paper pak.
I added the border and jewels from
my stash, along with a couple of
extra clouds.
Then it is finished with the wordart
from the Gecko Galz In Other Words
digital stamp set.

Make sure you check out the other
beautiful samples at the
 Gecko Galz blog
and get your own project linked up there.

The only rule is that you need to use at least
