Home For The Holidays

Hi!
Are you excited about Christmas?
I sure am.
I will be home for the holidays this year and
the family will come to me.
Much better than driving 6 hours each way
in icy cold conditions.

How about you?
Are you going to be home for the holidays?

I made a tag for you, using one of the free stamps
that Gecko Galz
gives out every day on their blog!

and I named it
"Home For the Holidays"

Isn't the house sweet?
This was SO easy!

I printed the house image on
white cardstock three times
and then cut out the
1. house
2. tree
3. mailbox
4. wreath

I cut them all out and
coloured them using dollar store markers.
I coloured the plain white tag with
a blue Ranger stamp pad.

Then I layered the house, tree, etc
with dimensional tape to give the tag
a bit of a 3D look.
I think it worked!

Here is something weird.
I pulled a white pencil out of my pen bag, and was able
to give the snowdrifts some dimension.
Then I looked at the pencil so I
could tell you what it was
and it's
EYELINER!
Why is there eyeliner in my pen bag
and who uses white eyeliner???!!!

But I digress.

Add a couple of stickers on top of the tag
with the words, and a piece of
washi tape on the bottom.
And some glossy accents on the window
A ribbon finishes it off.

I really had a good time
making this tag.
Give it a try!

And thanks for coming by!

December Tag

Today it is my turn to show you
a tag that I made using
Christmas products.
I overlaid a
digital stamp from the
Christmas Tangles stamp set
(which I absolutely LOVE!)
on a piece of white cardstock.
I printed it out and coloured it
using Rangers stamp pads.
Then I printed out the reindeer
(I named him Julian)
on white cardstock, printed him out, fussy-cut him
and coloured him with dollar store markers.

I added some Stickles glitter and
 Glossy Accents
on the decorations.
Here is a closer look:

Isn't it fun?
A ribbon and two wordart stickers complete the tag.
Oh, and Julian's necklace is Liquid Pearls.

I really had a good time
making this tag.
Give it a try!

And thanks for coming by!

Dashing Through The Snow

Today is the first day of the
Ho Ho Ho month!
And it it the first day of our
holiday Customer Challenge
at
This month's challenge theme is

DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW

Here is my sample for this
month's challenge:

For my digital card I
used a paper for the background
from the Dashing Through the Snow
paper pak

(It seemed appropriate for this)

Over top of that I placed icons from the
Christmas Dreams Craft Kits:

1. First choose another paper from the same paper pak
2. little girl over the paper
3. frame icon over the girl
4.. place that over the background paper at an angle
5: wordart and snowman and flower over that.
6. Make a 4x6 paper and using your
eye-dropper and paint bucket tools,
match the green to the branches on the frame
and fill the 4x6 paper with that green color.
7. put your layered creation over the green paper
8. add a drop show and
TA DA!!!
You have a fantastic, unique Christmas card!
You can get all of these
papers and elements at the

Christmas is coming!

and that means there is a brand new
customer challenge at
and that there are lots of amazing products
at the
just waiting for your to use them in your
challenge project!
The only hard and fast rule for our challenge is that
you use at least one Gecko Galz product
in your piece and when you see all
the great Christmas paper paks, digital stamp
sets, and collage sheets,
I'll bet you end up using mostly
Gecko Galz products for
whatever you create!

I used at least one item in each of
my samples this month that is
specifically NOT one of the
Gecko Galz Christmas-themed items:

Gecko Galz products used:

Coquette paper pak
Little Reindeers collage sheet Set
Merry and Bright Paper Pak
O Christmas Sayings digital stamp Set

Gecko Galz products used:

Little Reindeers collage sheet Set
Peppermint Lane paper pak
Coquette paper pak
Christmas Time stamp Set

Gecko Galz products used:
Christmas Chic Collage Sheet Set
Chocolate Box paper Set
The chalkboard wordart is a freebie from years ago.
You can add any other words or sentiments you like.

There is nothing to making these digital cards if you have
a program that allows you to create projects
using any of the Gecko Galz
images, papers, digital stamps and wordart.
You just work up from the background
paper, adding whatever you like,
and applying styles and blend modes
which make you happy!
Think of it as stacking items one on top of the other.
And as I have shown, you can combine
NON-Christmas products and create
gorgeous cards with those!
Your imagination is
the only limit.

And for those of you who make your
creations with paper and scissors,
just print out whatever components you want to use,
cut them out and stack them, one on top of the other.
Fancy it up with glitter, bling, stickers, lace or any of the
(many) treasures you have in your stash.

(We know you have a stash)

Exactly the same process!

So whether you are a digital artist,
or a paper and scissors Master,
you have no reason for not participating
in our
DECEMBER
SANTA CLAUS LANE
CUSTOMER CHALLENGE!

Oogedy-Boogedy October

It's  time for me to show you what I have
created for the month of October

I love me some Halloween.
Yup.
I surely do.
And I fell in love with the new Dark Arts Collage Sheet Set at
IN LOVE!
You have to go and check it out!
Really!
I can hardly contain my excitement!
Here, let's see what I did with it:

Isn't this woman amazing?!
(I don't know how that creepy guy behind her
got in there, but she had better be careful.)
And he is by Beth Rimmer.
I placed her over a paper by Cryztal Rain,
added the raven and moon from the Arsenic and Old Lace
Digital Stamp Set.
I finished it with another paper from the Coven paper pak
by putting it over the whole piece
and changing the blending mode so that
the whole thing looked spookier.
See, you can even use these papers as overlays!

What do I say about this? lol
Well, I bumped up the saturation of the
image from Dark Arts to make it kind of bright and neon-y.
(is that a word?)
The magenta background I made to match the
doll and then I placed a paper from
the In Marble Halls Paper Pak
(greatly enlarged) between the background
paper and the doll image.
Somehow, a skeleton by Beth Rimmer snuck in there too.
THAT'S spooky!
The wordart is a Font I can't remember
the name of, with a white outline.

This time the background paper is from the Freaky Paper Pak.
Gecko Galz has so many cool Halloween items in their shop!
I erased the background from the woman,
added a couple of embellies by Brandy Murray
and it's done!  Couldn't have been easier!

In this one the background paper is from the Coven Paper Pak and
the wordart is from the Scripted set.
I did not change the blend mode this time on the wordart, as the background is too dark
and too busy for you to be able to see it.

The background paper on this last one is from
the Coven paper pak and over top of it
I put three layers of paper I made to
match the colors in the image by using
the eyedropper and paint bucket tools.
The bats are the digital stamp.
That cat is watching your every move.
(and he is by Cajoline)
DON'T TRY TO LEAVE!!!!

The process I used for these is simple and straightforward.

I choose a paper for the background.
I crop the image from the Dark Arts page.
Using a mask of my choice, (in all these cases, by Paula Wright)
I layer the masked image over top of the paper.

I sometimes will add one of the Gecko Galz digital stamps and/or icons.
This month I used the Arsenic and Old Lace stamps and icons.

Or maybe words.
It's all up to you.

The digital stamps are so easy to use.
Did you know that when you change the blend mode
to darken or multiply and that will make the white
background disappear!
Magic!!!
Then to finish the piece off, I usually add
a border overlay from my massive stash of digital yummies,
and maybe an embellie from the same massive stash.

So that is my creative contribution for the month.

Make sure you check out the other projects
from our incredibly talented Design Team!
Each day on the Gecko Galz blog there
is a link to each designer's blog and a
free stamp for you!
And for sure, go see all the gorjuss
Halloween items in the

I'll bet you get as carried away as I did!
And it's only the beginning of the month!
See you at the Gecko Galz blog!

Bumpity Bump

I made something for this challenge to get you thinking, using the new
Dark Arts Collage Sheet
I cropped the woman from the Dark Arts Collage sheet
and used a mask (by Paula Wright) with her.
Then I placed it over a paper from the
Tribal First Paper pak.
(Did you know Gecko Galz has a lot of GORGEOUS Papers?)
I placed some wings behind her (by Beth Rimmer), and then
added a white smoke brush over top
(a free brush by Brusheezy)
All done!

Remember you don't have to do a digital project like I did-
The Gecko Galz images can all be easily printed, cut out and used for cards, ATC's Scrapbooking, anything your imagination can concoct.
And there are a lot of very cool Halloween images in the shop.
