Hi folks. It's time for a new challenge at
Go Where You Haven't Gone Before
(I know, it makes me think of Star Trek too.)
For a long time now, I have wanted to make a piece of
SHE ART
But you know how that goes...I can't, it won't work, I'm not talented enough....
That self talk can be a bitch.
Well, Grand Poobah Rosemary invited us to try something we have never tried before,
it was either do cartwheels on the front lawn
(Yeah, right)
or try to do some She Art
She Art it is.
It took me a long time, but I have to say, I love it.
I made her skirt out of wax paper, glue, bits of stuff, and napkins.
It was the perfect opportunity to go through my stash...
It involved many, many, many, many, MANY, many, many,
many layers.
And the most important thing is
I DID IT!
I hope this inspires you to go when you have not been before..
You have until April 6th to link up with us at
See you there!
This is fabulous! What a piece of work! I love looking for all the "stuff" in the paint--is that a bullet???
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is FANTASTIC. I love all those bits and pieces you have added. Is that a bullet in there.? The colors are marvelous. Congrats for doing this. It's perfection.
ReplyDeleteYes Linda, that IS a bullet. (I feel like I"m saying, Yes Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus. Or something like that.) lol
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Inspiring and Ravishing.... (AIR - the stuff we live on). Great work Electra. I am not the arty person, but I'm kinda tempted to give some She Art a go... perhaps I'll get a moment over Easter. I am always amazed by what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteI love things made with "bits of stuff" and this is outstanding! It is also inspiring. xx
ReplyDeleteGood for you on doing this, it came out so cool looking. I love all the bits so much and it all comes together and is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThis is totally awesome! I've been dying to make one of these types of canvases and you are definitely giving me a push in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteI love all the intricate layers in your collage, Electra. The colors are fabulous too. Blessings!
