Hats

HATS
is this week's theme at
I'll be the first to admit that this is a bit of a stretch for that particular theme, but hey,
When have you NOT known me to take a bit of poetic license?
Thanks to Holliewood, Beth Rimmer,
Cajoline, and Lisa's Altered Art for the great images.
And thank YOU for stopping by!

In Like a Lion

Out like a lamb.
Isn't that what they say?
Here, our spring has been in like a lamb out like a lion.
No surprise.  The is Canada.  We're used to anything when it comes to weather.

Poobah Deena has challenge us with this theme:
Use an Animal somewhere on your project.

Here's mine:
It's a collage for my soon to arrive grandson's nursery room wall.
I hope he likes it.
I used acrylic paint, and gel medium.
Some of the animals were cut with a Cricut Machine,
others were scanned from the fabric I used to make a quilt and
then printed and transferred to the canvas.
I added some texture with modeling paste mixed with paint.
And the lions mane is a flower.
(But don't tell him).

You have until April 7th to link up to
You know how much fun we have there!
At least go over and see what the Poobahs have created for inspiration.
I hope you join us!

Here Comes Spring, Green, Blue and Pink

Peggy Gatto has given us the current challenge for
The photos are my own and I've used some lovely elements from
Dido Designs, Syndee Nuckles, Bleusse,

and see the wonderful work our design team has done for this challenge!

Ya Know Reindeer?

and how they fly through the air on Christmas Eve
and bring all the good little girls and boys toys?
Well...

TRUE STORY!!
This is for Peggy's
She has some really wonderful images for you to play with,
so you should go over there, pick one and play along.
I have to be honest, I didn't use one of her wonderful images this time, because I simply
ADORE
the vehicle this little chick is driving.
I want one, in fact.
The vehicle, chick, and egg are courtesy of Cajoline.
(She has the sweetest images)
The background paper
(which I also love)
is by Joanne Brisebois Designs.
The buttons and wordart
(Ok, I love them too)
are by Syndee Nuckles.

I haven't had a chance top sit at the computer all week,
so I HAD TO do this.

Have a funny day.

Just Because

Elements used are by Cemerony and Thao Cosgrove.

Gingersnap Twinchies

have arrived and they are so wonderful!
Aren't they great?

They are by Deb Ryan
Shelly Schmidt
and Lecretia Olble from Krisha keepsakes

I am so blessed.

And while we're at it, I found a way to display my own that were left over from the swap
(you know I always make too many)

I like Twinchies.
May need to make more of them

My Mountains

I was in the mountains this past weekend and took many pictures.
This is one.

House Tag

When I saw what the theme was for this week at
I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do.
Does that ever happen to you?
See, I have these Penny Black House stamps and until now, haven't had the chance to use them.
But this was
PERFECT!
It would have been wrong not to.
Right?
It's not the best picture, but it'll have to do.
See the little sign on the left?
Well, that's wooden button a dear friend in Australia sent to me ages ago.
ALSO, waiting for the right time.
It's by Aussie Woodcraft and the instructions (?) on it say
"repeated soaking in water not recommended"
Huh?
What do they do with their buttons in Australia?
The building on the heart, I made of Utee.
Not sure why I did, I just did.
It's coloured with Ranger Distress Inks.
Rock Candy and ink of the letters.
Floss on the windows.
To make it cozy.
The dots are Liquid Pearls.
And the rest? My stash, of course.

Oh yeah, the frame is digital, by Wish Bliss Studios.
And you can click on it to make it bigger.
I have no idea why it's so small.

So thank you,
It was meant to be.

Granny's Photo album

This month's Chestnut Theme Challenge at
is
GRANNY'S PHOTO ALBUM
For about the past year, I've been working on scrapbooking all of my late mother's  photos, some of them dating back to the late 1800's.
I will NOT however, bore you with any of that.
haha
I'll bore you with something else.
The last year of her life my Mom (and my daughter's Grandma) lived in a Retirement Home.  Like so many older folks (myself included), she enjoyed reminiscing about the
"Good Old Days".
So I copied some of her pics and made her a little album to look at whenever she felt like it.
In my own defense, I would like to mention that I made this
album when I was just learning to scrapbook.

So you see, this REALLY IS Granny's Photo Album!!

Do you remember the days when scrapbooking was all about
oval and circle cutters, stickers and fancy scissors?
We've come a long way baby.

But she loved it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Faith and Begorra!

(The little girl is named Faith and Patrick's middle name is Begorra.)

Thanks to
Sum of All Crafts, Fidlette, LIsa's Altered Art, Cajoline,
Crowabout Studios, KIm Cameron, Carole Neale, Gilded Bee,
Rachaels Scraps, TY Julia, Tumblefish Studio, and Fei Fei!
(there are 25 layers on this!)

OK, I'm almost embarrassed to admit this

but I started out editing a picture of flying pigs that I took.
NO...
They weren't real, they were painted on the side of a building.
And then I added a picture I took of clouds.
And then I added a picture I took of a barn.
And then it seemed like a waste to just close it all and never think about it again, so I added a frame.
And a lady,
and, well, you get the picture..
.
OK, I admit it, I don't have a life.
At least not one outside the one between my ears.

Many thanks to RianDesigns for the lady and all the flowers.
And to Kim Klassen and Bonnie Zeiman for the textures.
And to Kim Meeder and Priss Designs for the frames
and to Paula Wright, and Amanda Fraijo-Tobin and Jofia Designs for the lovely embellies.

I should go eat now.
Sometimes I forget.
lol

GREEEEEEN.

Elements used are by Grunhilde Storeide, Thao Cosgrove, Beth Rimmer,
Createwings Designs, KIm Klassen, Durin Eberhart,, with my own photo.

Thanks for looking!

Branching Out

That's what we're doing at
BRANCHING OUT
What would that mean to you?
Would it mean trees?  Shrubbery?  Green stuff?  Your family tree?
Whatever it means to you is what is right.
This is a photo I took of some wonderful fall colours last autumn.
The paper was plain yellow cardstock and I added some digitally stamped leaves
and dimensional dots with Dreamcatchers Paste.
The "pennants" on the left were in my scrap stash.
and the sentiment is from a Postmodern Design stamp of a quote by Leonardo Da Vinci.
I hope you link up with us at
Visit us and see what the other Poobahs have created for this challenge!

Makes me wonder

what's been going on at this party...
Thanks to
If you haven't yet, pop by her store and see her new collage sheets!

Harlequin

Sharon of our
design team has challenged us to create something based on the theme "Harlequin".
What a wonderful theme this is!
Here is what I did:
This is a real (non-digital) LO of my daughter and her sweetie at the top of a mountain,
just before we were about to ride the gondola back down.
What I didn't know (and obviously, neither did my daughter) was that on the ride down, her beau was going to get down on one knee and ask her to marry him.
Can you tell from the look on his face?
Sweet kid.
It's a good thing I like him.   lol
The background papers for this are by Echo Park and Bo Bunny
The flowers are made of some white tissue paper I stamped with Staz-On ink.
I punched them out, scrunched them, sprayed with chocolate glimmer-mist
and held them together with a brad.
The leaves are from a silk flower my mother had in the 1940's.

Oh, she said yes.

He'd better be good to her or I'll punch him out, scrunch him,
spray him with glimmer mist and hold him together with a brad.

I hope you come and join us at
There are lots of great pieces there to inspire you.

While I'm at it, I think this LO fits for the Gingersnap Creations
TWO COLOURS
White isn't a colour right?
:-)

Vintage Page Designs

Ali Manning of
has challenged us to use up old paper from our stash.
Stash?
Moi?
You think I have a stash?
OK, maybe I do.
Just a small one though.
I made a mini album, which I haven't done for eons, about a road trip I took almost 4 years ago.
Yes, I have a stash of photos waiting to be scrapbooked too.
OKAY??
I'm going to overwhelm you with pics, OK?
That's the thing about mini-albums, how do you show them, if you don't show a bunch of pics?
Are ya still with me?
Almost done...
That's it!
Thanks for staying with me...um, hello?
Hello?
Anybody there?

Friday Foto

I wandered over to Peggy's
just like I do every Friday
and found some wonderful images.
Just like I do every Friday.
So I chose one and made something.

I have had a hankering to use one of the
Lisa's Altered Art images that I love so much
and that's where both the little girl and the background came from.
Peggy's challenge to us is to
WRITE A NOTE!!!
and I don't think that's really what I've done here.
But I don't care.
And I'm sure Peggy won't mind either.
She's pretty cool that way.

Word Art is by Bethany Harty.

Other things I've used on here were freebies from the Internet.
(Is the Internet a person???)

Once in a Blue Moon

THINGS THAT LEAP!
(like tall buildings with a single bound!)
For those of you who are much (much) younger than me, I'm referring to Superman.
(This is the only thing I could think of that leaps.)
The pig just seemed like the right thing to do.
S/he is from Graphics 45.
Buildings by Beth Rimmer.
Tag is embossed with  a Sizzex folder and coloured with Ranger Ink.
Tail by Electra
The yarn has been in my stash since before time was invented.
