Rock Around The Christmas Tree

I'm scared of

a number of things.But nothing more than

SPIDERS.

It's a Phobia, really.A major one.

In fact, when I saw the theme for the week at

The Three Muses,

I decided I simply could not play along.

So sad.

I argued with myself at great length.

Even tried to do a piece with something else.

But the fact is,

I am scared of SPIDERS.

Very, Very.

And art is about honesty, if nothing else, right?

So here you go.

I did it.

January Loveliness at Gecko Galz

Both of my samples using the new products are digital.

Easy Peasy to do, as long as you have some kind of photo-editing software.

I use Photoshop Elements 13,

and to be honest, 

I taught myself how to use it.

And if I can do that, ANYONE can do that!

My first sample uses an image from the Jewel It Romance Collage Sheet.

The Papers I used were from the new High Society Paper Pak.

For the next sample I used an image from the Dreams of Spring Collage Set.

I placed the image over white cardstock, and erased parts, to allow the white to show through.

I overlayed a digital stamp from the Spring Gems Stamp Set and changed the blending mode to Multiply.

Adding a new layer, I coloured parts of the face with a brush, and added a layer of glitter to the butterfly.

I also coloured the eyes.

I added turquoise brush work around the edges and changed it to a bevel, then placed it all on black cardstock.  

I added white brushwork over the edges to soften it.

Now for something totally fun,

I have a free digital stamp for you!

And just because it's digital, doesn't mean you need to use it digitally!

No sirree, you can

print it out and colour it and have all sorts of fun with it!

Just right-click on the image and save it.

I made a little something with it...

using Gecko Galz papers and images.

It's so beautiful.

I felt like I was tearing a page out of a book,

something I was NEVER allowed to do as a child

(and still won't!)

But I added some treasures by Cajoline, and a border by Berna Datema:

Looking for a Reindeer

Over at Collage Obsession,

they lost a reindeer.

I know, it's hard to believe that

you could lose something as big

as a reindeer.

But they did.

Well, on second thought, reindeers aren't that big.

At least not compared to the moose in my front yard this year...

 1.  He is looking in my window...

Oh oh, now he is looking at me.

Back away slowly...

I'll just hide behind this sign. 

Mamma gets sick of waiting for the boy to catch up.

Cool, eh?

(yes, I am Canadian)

At any rate, it just so happens that

I found the missing reindeer.

Turns out he was in Canada all the time.

December Challenge at Gecko Galz

Can you believe it?

It's December already.

Are you as crazy-busy as I am?
