Oogedy-Boogedy October

It's  time for me to show you what I have
created for the month of October

I love me some Halloween.
Yup.
I surely do.
And I fell in love with the new Dark Arts Collage Sheet Set at
IN LOVE!
You have to go and check it out!
Really!
I can hardly contain my excitement!
Here, let's see what I did with it:

Isn't this woman amazing?!
(I don't know how that creepy guy behind her
got in there, but she had better be careful.)
And he is by Beth Rimmer.
I placed her over a paper by Cryztal Rain,
added the raven and moon from the Arsenic and Old Lace
Digital Stamp Set.
I finished it with another paper from the Coven paper pak
by putting it over the whole piece
and changing the blending mode so that
the whole thing looked spookier.
See, you can even use these papers as overlays!

What do I say about this? lol
Well, I bumped up the saturation of the
image from Dark Arts to make it kind of bright and neon-y.
(is that a word?)
The magenta background I made to match the
doll and then I placed a paper from
the In Marble Halls Paper Pak
(greatly enlarged) between the background
paper and the doll image.
Somehow, a skeleton by Beth Rimmer snuck in there too.
THAT'S spooky!
The wordart is a Font I can't remember
the name of, with a white outline.

This time the background paper is from the Freaky Paper Pak.
Gecko Galz has so many cool Halloween items in their shop!
I erased the background from the woman,
added a couple of embellies by Brandy Murray
and it's done!  Couldn't have been easier!

In this one the background paper is from the Coven Paper Pak and
the wordart is from the Scripted set.
I did not change the blend mode this time on the wordart, as the background is too dark
and too busy for you to be able to see it.

The background paper on this last one is from
the Coven paper pak and over top of it
I put three layers of paper I made to
match the colors in the image by using
the eyedropper and paint bucket tools.
The bats are the digital stamp.
That cat is watching your every move.
(and he is by Cajoline)
DON'T TRY TO LEAVE!!!!

The process I used for these is simple and straightforward.

I choose a paper for the background.
I crop the image from the Dark Arts page.
Using a mask of my choice, (in all these cases, by Paula Wright)
I layer the masked image over top of the paper.

I sometimes will add one of the Gecko Galz digital stamps and/or icons.
This month I used the Arsenic and Old Lace stamps and icons.

Or maybe words.
It's all up to you.

The digital stamps are so easy to use.
Did you know that when you change the blend mode
to darken or multiply and that will make the white
background disappear!
Magic!!!
Then to finish the piece off, I usually add
a border overlay from my massive stash of digital yummies,
and maybe an embellie from the same massive stash.

So that is my creative contribution for the month.

Make sure you check out the other projects
from our incredibly talented Design Team!
Each day on the Gecko Galz blog there
is a link to each designer's blog and a
free stamp for you!
And for sure, go see all the gorjuss
Halloween items in the

I'll bet you get as carried away as I did!
And it's only the beginning of the month!
See you at the Gecko Galz blog!

Thanks for stopping by, says
Electra, walking away backwards very slowly......

Bumpity Bump

(Well, now that I think about it, it's a new month everywhere!)
but in Geckoland, that means there is a new Customer Challenge
that you will want to take part in!

It can be one of the free products, stamps, collage images, or digital papers!!  It is up to you!!
The winner will receive a $25 Gecko Galz Shopping Spree

I made something for this challenge to get you thinking, using the new
Dark Arts Collage Sheet
I cropped the woman from the Dark Arts Collage sheet
and used a mask (by Paula Wright) with her.
Then I placed it over a paper from the
Tribal First Paper pak.
(Did you know Gecko Galz has a lot of GORGEOUS Papers?)
I placed some wings behind her (by Beth Rimmer), and then
added a white smoke brush over top
(a free brush by Brusheezy)
All done!

Remember you don't have to do a digital project like I did-
The Gecko Galz images can all be easily printed, cut out and used for cards, ATC's Scrapbooking, anything your imagination can concoct.
And there are a lot of very cool Halloween images in the shop.

Check out the

and don't miss the samples the DT has done for you
at the main blog: Gecko Galz Scrapbooking

September Already?

Well, it is already September and I am
wondering where the summer went?

That's the bad news.
But there is good news!
It a new month at
Yesiree Bob, it's
HARVEST TIME!
But wait there is more!
There are new Harvest Time goodies in the

I made a few things which hopefully can help
get your creative juices flowing.
I used some of the (many) new items.

for this first one,
I used these Gecko Galz products:

High Tea Paper pak
La Boheme paper
All You Need is Love digital stamp set
Be Thankful digital stamp set

The process I used for these is simple and straightforward.

I choose two papers, one for the background
and one, which, with a mask of my choice, I layer over top
of the first paper.
I crop the collage sheet image I want, and again, use a mask,
and again, put it over top of the last item.
I sometimes will add one of the Gecko Galz digital stamps.
Sometimes not.
Sometimes I will add a Gecko Galz icon from one of the
digital kits.
Or maybe words.
It's all up to you.
These digital stamps are so easy to use.
Did you know that when you change the blend mode
to darken or multiply and that will make the white
background disappear!
Magic!!!
Then to finish the piece off, I usually add
a border overlay from my massive stash of digital yummies.

Obviously, if you have never done digital
scrapbooking, none of this will make any sense to you,
BUT
if you go over to the Gecko Galz Scrapbooking, you will see
lots of terrific samples from talented members of the
Design Team that are made with
paper and scissors and all of those
traditional goodies.
Gecko Galz products are incredibly versatile.

for this one,
I used these Gecko Galz products:

Thankful for Fall Collage Sheet
Mayflower Paper Pak

And for this one I used:

Gatsby Paper pak
Gypsy Market paper pak
Be Thankful Jewel It Collage Sheet
"I love you"  Holiday Icon from the
Holiday Icon Digital kit

My Inability to Follow Directions

So this is what was posted for the coming week's  The Three Muses challenge:
let's use a small black and white photo WITHIN a colorful art page.

I however, did two big photos on a scrapbook,
non-artsy pastel page.
But it is what it is.
And I don't care.
And yes, that IS me.

Seaside Fun!

Have you seen the gorjuss new digital papers
and collage sheets at
There are so many fun ones to choose from!
I had a blast making these samples for this month's theme over at
The theme is
BY THE SHORE

products used:

Timeless Paper pak
Flower Power Paper Pak
brushes and masks by Amanda Sok
Sea Side Icons from the
Sea Side Splendor Digital Kit
Cuties by the Shore Collage Sheet

products used:

Timeless Paper Pak
Splish Splash Paper Pak
brushes and masks by Amanda Sok
Sea Side Icons from the
Sea Side Splendor Digital Kit
Splish Splash Collage Sheet

products used:

Timeless Paper Pak
Splish Splash Paper Pak

brushes and masks by Amanda Sok
Sea Side Icons from the
Sea Side Splendor Digital Kit
Cuties by the Shore Collage Sheet

The process I use for these is all the same.
And as you see, I used a lot of the same products.
Gecko Galz products are so versatile and the
collage sheets have so many images to choose from!
I choose two papers, one for the background
and one, which, with a mask of my choice, I layer over top
of the first paper.
I crop the collage sheet image I want, and again, use a mask,
and again, put it over top of the last item.
I add some sea side icons, placing them over or under the main image,
wherever I like.
I erase any parts I don't want.
Sometimes I add a border overlay or not,
depending on my mood. lol
And maybe some words and/or brushes.

Use your creativity to the max!!

I went with a vintage theme this month, but
there are retro, mermaid, swimming pool and
all sorts of digital stamps, papers and collage sheets
that are perfect for this theme!

I probably don't have to remind you, but
our Customer challenge is running
until the end of the month
and that gives you lots of time
so make something wonderful!
Get all the deets
I'll see you
(and your terrific art) there soon!
