It's my day to be featured on the

Gecko Galz Blog
for this month's Customer Challenge!

It's a huge honour, cus

you should see the incredibly

talented Design Team I am a part of.

Their projects are second to none!

Having said that, I did make a few pieces 

for the Nouveau Garden theme.

April Art Nouveau

It's April and with a new month

comes a new Customer Challenge at

Gecko Galz Scrapbooking

I made something for this theme:

Gecko Galz Products Used:

Gatsby paper pak

All That Jazz Digital stamp set

(both of these products can be found at

the Gecko Galz Etsy Shop)

Over the background I placed the

digital stamp image.

I erased the background and words

(which was harder and more time-consuming

than I care to admit)

I created a new layer and painted the colours I wanted,

just like colouring with crayons.

Then I duplicated the original image and 

placed it over top of that.

I added a border from my stash.

I cropped the wordart from the bottom of the

original image, filled it with red

to match the border and placed it on top.

And I'm done.

Hi everyone!

As you know this month we are featuring

BIRDS 

for our Customer Challenge theme.

And it just so happens that the Take A Word

challenge is the same thing:  Birds!

So I may as well link up to that when Take a Word goes live.

Once again, the main image is from the

You know you can get any of these lovely

papers, images and icons at the

There are some beautiful new images over there,

be sure to check it out!

For each  sample, I place a cropped strip of paper 

over top of the background paper, and

added brushes and perhaps an overlay border.

Then I put the main image over that.

The Wordart is the last thing that gets layered on top.

If you don't do digital art,

you can do the same thing by printing out

the images you want, cutting them and 

layering them on a card base.

The only thing you ca't do is using a brush, but

just substitute a ribbon or use a stamp.

It will be perfect!

(personally I hate it when people say 

Happy...just for everyday stuff, 

but I couldn't think of anything else to say)

It's a new Month and a new Customer Challenge at

Gecko Galz Scrapbooking

Isn't that a fun theme?

I used the Blue Bird of Happiness collage sheet

for my main image on my sample:

I cropped the image I wanted from the

collage sheet and placed it over

a paper from the

Butterfly Dreams Paper Pak.

I erased the background from the bird image.

Then I added a Gecko Galz frame over that.

Next, they went over a paper from the

Gidget Paper Pak.

Then THAT went over a paper from

the Gatsby Paper Pak.

(Can you tell I love the Gecko Galz papers?)

I topped it off with some words and 

bling in the corners and middle top

of the frame.

You know you can get these awesome papers, 

the other GG products I used

and all sorts of other goodies at the

Gecko Galz Etsy Shop, right?

And the prices are so reasonable!

Here are a few things I have been working on.

Just so you do't think I am not doing anything! lol

Magic in the Moonlight

Hello friends!

Electra here, hoping

to inspire you a little bit with my digital creations for

this month's 

Gecko Galz Customer Challenge

Moonlight and Magic

I tried to choose some products which

seemed to have the aura of those two things

and I am pretty happy with what I made:

For my first sample I used

the Moonbeams Collage sheet, 

a paper from the In Marble Halls paper pak 

and wordart from the 

In Other Words digital stamp set

Using Photoshop Elements photo-editing software,

I chose a paper for the background.

I cropped the image I wanted from the collage sheet

and placed it over that.

On top is an icon from the Curiosity Shop Craft kit.

I used some items from my stash:

the border, frame, overlay and flourish.

To make this:

Over top of the background paper, place

the cropped image of your choice.

Add your chose border and frame.

Place the wordart over top.

Then add any overlays you like

to give some texture/magical quality,

on both the main image and the wordart.

The flourish goes on top.

TADA!

the Golden Splendors Collage Sheet

Scripted Collage Sheet wordart

Here is how it was made:

Crop your favorite image from the collage sheet and

place it over the background paper.

Place the wordart on top of that.

That is the basic process:

I added frames, borders and stars and

a lot of glitter styles.

(Everything is better with bling)

Done!

For my last sample I used:

another paper from the

In Marble Halls paper pak

(Can you tell it's one of my favorite paper paks?)

A cropped image from the

Fairy Dust Collage Sheet

and more wordart from the Scripted Collage Sheet Set.

(also one of my faves)

I followed the very same layering process

that I use for all of my digital projects.

1. background paper

2. image

3. wordart

4. frame, borders, the lined and star brushes

5. and a tiny black stroke around the wordart

February Moonlight and Magic

Welcome to February

Gecko Galz Gurls!

(and maybe some Gecko Galz Guys?)

It's time for a brand new

Customer Challenge:

February Moonlight and Magic

for my sample, I used the

Gecko Galz products:

Nouveau Goddess Jewels and

In Dreams ATC background

which you can find in our

Etsy shop here

There is only one rule, and that is you need to use at least ONE  product from Gecko Galz!!  

It can be one of the free products, stamps, collage images, or digital papers!!  It is up to you!!

The winner will receive a $25 Gecko Galz Shopping Spree !

My sample is digital and I used

Photoshop Elements to create it.

I cropped the background paper and placed it on a new

document 2.5" x 3.5", the size of an ATC.

I then cropped the image I wanted from the

Nouveau Goddess Jewel It 1x2 collage sheet

and placed that over top of the background.

I applied a reverse bevel to it.

Then I added the wordart which is by

Cottage  Arts and added an outside glow to that.

I added some free sparkly brushes over top 

on a new layer from Brusheezy in white.

And it's done!
