Two TOO long workdays.

When my workday goes longer than 10 hours (and even longer) I can't handle it. I come home and all I want to do is put my feet up, relax for a bit and go to bed so I can get up in the morning and do it all over again. That's why I haven't been here. I've had two VERY long workdays. And that why all I shall say tonight it that having run out of places to put my ATC's I came up with these two ideas. They're hanging in my kitchen.I have one of those (7 Gypsies?) carousels, but am not thrilled with that, and I've covered two canvases with them. If any one has any other ideas, I'm game. Also, to those who have taken the time to visit my blog and leave such kind comments, you have no idea how much your words mean to me. When I started doing this, I was sure no one would want to see what I make. Now little by little, I felling like maybe I have something to offer. And I have new friends who are important to me and who I care about a great deal. You're all da bomb! I Love you all.

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog.
What a great idea to display your atcs.
I have one of the huge crafting cupboards which open out to about 10 ft wide, the end two door panels are designed to hold velcro bags to store small objects pens, paint brushes etc, but i had a better idea.
I have removed the pkts and on the back of each plastic atc cover i have stuck a small dot of adhesive velcro, This adheres to the panel in the door and I can display my atcs, so I have 2 mini art gallerys at the side of my crafting table which give me inspiration while i work.
The good thing is that because they are attached with velcro they are easily removed allowing me to move around the display when i wish and add new ones as I collect or make them.
It works really well. Also my cupboard never gets closed up so when visitors come to my home they can see the kind of thing I do as its all right there.
I love what you have done here, I have mounted themed atcs in a frame before and given them as a gift, What type of little box is that you have used with all the little sections in it? That looks great it holds loads.
Thanks for sharing your great idea.

  2. Love you too! I enjoy coming over and being inspired or drinking in your creativity or laughing at something hilarious you've said. It's a joy to come over here and spend some time.

Re: ATCs, I don't have mine displayed which is a crime and I need to rectify this because I love the idea of having them around to make me smile! I guess you could also rotate collections and have seasonal offerings to keep the collection on display. (says the woman without hers on display)

  3. Oh, and those long workdays are terrible. I hope you don't do that often. We need our crafty blogger perky and creative.

  4. So sorry your days have been so long lately! That's always hard! Your ATC's look amazing in that tray and that frame! I have mine tucked away in a binder, but I don't like it because I can't see them!!!!

  5. I wondered where you'd been. Yuk. Ten-hour workdays are misery. I'm sorry you've been so busy with non-awesome stuff to do, and I hope you get a break very soon. I miss laughing with you and seeing your GORGEOUS (and yes, it is gorgeous!) art.

I don't have any good ideas for ATC display, as I've got all my creations shoved into a bookcase right now, but I really like what you've done here.

    Hang in there, girlfriend!

    Hugs,
    Linda

  6. Sucks when you have to work for a living. Why can't we just stay home, make art and eat chocolate? I don't get it. Hey, don't worry about the blog, it will still be there when you have time, and so will we. But we do worry when we don't see a post from you, that, and I laugh my arse off every time I read your blog. Can't help very much with the ATC's, as I haven't accumulated that many, yet. But what you do have looks great!

  8. i love the ones in the frame! you could switch them out whenever you want.

i like sorting through boxes and discovering fun things I forgot I owned. So i would put all of my ATCs in a box then "forget" about them. And when I'm feeling in the mood, go back and re-discover.

    Maybe that's why I don't make ATCs.

  9. Hi Jaqi, love the velcro idea! The partitioned frame is a "Painters Tray" from 7Gypsies. I love it.
